The AMAKS "Yubileynaya" Hotel in Tolyatti (Luch LLC) became the first organization in the tourism industry of the Samara Region to join the federal Labor Productivity project as part of the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy." Now the methods that were previously associated with factories are coming to the hotel business.
The hotel's team has already completed the first module of lean technology training. Employees studied the factors that slow down work and increase costs, and also mastered the 5C system, an approach to organizing the workspace that helps maintain order and save time.
The pilot area will be the catering area — restaurants and kitchen units of the hotel. With the assistance of experts from the Regional Competence Center, the team will diagnose the work processes. The key objectives are to eliminate food losses, optimize staff logistics, standardize operations, and reduce serving time. After testing solutions in catering, the successful experience will be extended to other services: they will speed up the procedures for checking in and cleaning rooms, increasing the overall level of service.
Practice shows that the use of lean techniques in the hospitality industry has a noticeable effect: production per employee increases by one and a half times, and customer service time is reduced by a third.
Denis Gurkov, Acting Minister of Industry and Trade of the Samara Region:
"Governor Vyacheslav Andreevich Fedorishchev sets clear goals for the development of tourism and improving the quality of service. Our region is visited by up to three million tourists annually — a high level of hospitality is becoming a key advantage of the province. The participation of hotels in the Labor Productivity project is a practical step in this direction."
Anton Ivanov, Director of the hotel:
"Being the first in the region is both a great responsibility and an excellent incentive for development. There are no small things in our field: the speed of serving dishes, the well—coordinated work of the kitchen, the smile of the waiter - this gives the guest an impression of Tolyatti and the Samara region as a whole."
Now the federal project unites enterprises of various fields: factories, agricultural enterprises, transport workers and, for the first time, the hotel business. Participation in the project is free for enterprises in the region. Details are available on the productivity.rf portal.
